In the game of Chess, there are safe, proven, and reliable ways to start the game.  These are called standard openings.  The rule of thumb is to open, or move your center pawns first and then get your knights into the game, followed by your bishops.  Most players will follow these basic principles to lay a solid foundation for the rest of the game.
The opening of your day should also follow some basic principles to insure success.  I have found that starting my day with my highest thought, followed by a simple goal and a positive statement sets me up for a successful day.  My highest thought is usually a spiritual scripture or motivational message that encourages my soul.  Simply setting a simple goal of writing or running for 30 minutes gets my energy flowing.  And most importantly, I make my first words as positive as possible.
I want you to develop your opening game.  Be careful how you start, it will definately impact how you experience and end your entire day.
